Chinese New Year Celebration 2008

On Sunday we had the honor of attending our local FCC Chinese New Year Celebration. It was held at the Sheraton Hotel Oceanfront. The organizers did a great job. We were greeted with goodie bags for the girls and an envelope full of fun stuff. Local Asian vendors were there. The ballroom was decorated with balloons and lots of fun stuff and they had craft tables set up. Arielle and Danielle helped with the the crafts for a 20 minute time frame. Then we had annoucements and then dinner. Dinner was okay. There were noodles, rice, chicken and egg rolls then cakes for dessert. Then we had entertainment provided by the local Chinese Cultural Center. Overall a nice night but we think we will wait a few more years before doing it again. There was nothing there that held Shoshannah's attention. So before the night was over we had to buy her a new outfit as she destroyed the first one,she had pulled her bows out of her hair along with wads of hair. NO fun!

Wow!

That looks like quite the celebration!

I agree about the age though. Marie just mostly looks at it like a great party with good food. :-)

wow! Look at how long Shoshanna's hair is getting (Kenn has a fit because I keep Annalee's in a bob :)

Well, If we didn't have the fish or Dragon Dance (or Asian Ice Cream...ummm), Annalee would have been a bear!

Wow, Shoshannah's is long!

Ava wants to wear her Chinese dress daily, every since we put it on 2 weeks ago. IT shows its wear and tear quickly. I can't believe that I didn't buy a red dress in China when I was there. I bought ever other color under the sun.
